Pacific Northwest Surgical Outreach is dedicated to maintaining a rapid surgical respond capability in support of humanitarian aid missions providing relief following natural disasters and during episodes of catastrophic human suffering. Its philosophy is based on the insertion of highly motivated, well-qualified surgical teams, attached to larger aid organizations or operating independently, into areas of crisis where rapid response and flexibility are essential. In addition, its mission extends to providing elective surgical treatment and follow-up in the setting of underdeveloped regions of the world where a persistent need for surgical services exists.
